You have the entire day to Yourself.

No Traffic, No Hurry, No Need to Run to Office and Punch In before your late.

On this wonderful day, you decide to wash your car.

But not at the Car Wash Center. You feel adventurous today, decide to car wash at home.

Here are some simple steps that help you get started

Fact 1 – The Perfect Spot

Do not keep your Car in the Sun, the heated car will evaporate the water leaving a residue of soap stains.

Find a cool place and begin your washing

Fact 2 – The Washing Technique

Some prefer to use the Double Bucket Method / Triple Bucket Method.

Both are the same, you only add an extra bucket for your Rinsing

The Double Bucket Method

  • First Bucket for your Soapy Water
  • Second Bucket to Rinse off the Soap on your Microfiber Cloth

The Triple Bucket Method

  • First Bucket for your Soapy Water
  • Soapy Microfiber cloth or cloth dipped in this bucket and used to wash your Car.
  • Second  Bucket to Rinse it Off
  • All Soapy Microfiber Cloth Rinsed in this Bucket
  • Third Bucket to Wash the Wheel Rims
  • You keep a dedicated bucket only to wash your wheel Rims. Why?
  • You do not want that Dirt Washed off the wheels only to clean the sponge and wipe it on your car. You are putting the same dirt from the road on to your body and thus scratching the paint

Car Shampoo

In India, we would visit the grocery store and buy a clothes washing powder sachet mix it in water or any washing powder for that matter. Using them can cause to dull your car Body paint and even scratches in the long run.

Buy a Car Shampoo formulated for washing cars. Always read the instructions before use.

Fact 3 – Car Wash at Home: Hard Water or Soft Water?

If you use hard water chances are that it will leave mineral stains on your car. Car Wash Shampoo does not mix with hard water. Any Shampoo or Soap for that matter.

You will not have any issues when it comes to soft water. If you use a RO water purifier at home, there is always some water that is being wasted every time you Switch On and switch Off. Collect that water for your Car Wash.

Time to Shine

With a Lint-Free Cloth or a Microfiber cloth apply polish on the car. Follow the instructions written on the label. Work section by section.

Depending on your usage, wash your car once in a week or once in two weeks.

Bonus Tip

Monthly once wash your at a Car Service Station. This will remove all the debris and dirt from all those places under the car that you cannot reach. Regular wash reduces Wear & Tear.
